Hotshots - Final Round

Long post - Fashion info near the bottom

I journeyed over in the late afternoon to the final episode in the Hotshots contest. Three primo designers remained; one big challenge would determine the prize dispersal. By this time they were all winners, guaranteed a nice prize package -- still, being top gun is good for one's ego. The test this week was a difficult one. Each contestant had a complete house to decorate. I am pretty sure they didn't see that coming -- I certainly would have been surprised anyway.

They were each given a rustic house from [SPRY]. With 250 prims and two hours of hard work they made it into a home.  The houses are darling and a prize in themselves, but with only 50 extra prims and well over twice as much space -- you can see this wasn't a Decor 101 midterm. I missed the beginning of the contest, but it appeared that each of the gals received a couch to work into their decor. With fewer people in attendance for this last round the lag was minimal, a definite plus for those diligently  sorting through inventory.

And the winners are:
Samantha Hellman - 1st Place

RubyStarlight Writer - 2nd Place

Amilie Knelstrom - 3rd Place

My outfit of the day included some new items. My great new, warm and cozy jacket is a group Christmas gift from +KiiToS!!+ .  (Find the photo frame sign in the tree to teleport to the shop from the landing point).  Now I am very picky about joining groups. I never join to get something, but I admit to venturing over to see if I wanted to join; the jacket is really cute. Missing the sign in the tree, I flew over to the island -- following my beam like a good little fashionista. That actually is a more impressive approach.

The shop and grounds are cheerful and welcoming with plenty of details including gardening tools, plants and a tiny (maybe electric) truck. Both clothes and home goods are sold. Poses, furniture and some very warmly homey houses mix with decor items from other SL shops to create an extremely pleasant shopping experience. There are lots of prim based clothing designs including many jackets.

Now prim clothing either works or it doesn't and you don't always know how well it will fit as you click those pay buttons. Some designs seem to look great on everyone and others not so much. So joining the group was a safe way to test the fit probabilities. I think this will work very well for most average shaped folks. A coat for men is included in the pack also. For me, there is no hips moving outside the jacket issue.

My other new items include one of the new hair releases from Amacci. This uses a hair base as well as prims covering most of the skull, so a blending of two former styles to make something with characteristics of both. There are also some new sleek updos with hair bases perfect for classic fashion and evening attire.

My over-sized shoulder bag is a great POE3 hunt find from .:Pelletteria Morrisey:. The prize also includes a key clip for guys or when you are in super casual mode. The pose works very well while walking or standing. This will of course be determined in part by your AO. Mine is Amacci's POSH AO.
